Caught up in it all....

3 Weeks of back pain finally over. Running was fine but riding not so much. We will see tonight with spin class how the old back is doing.

Birthday past. Now I'm in the middle of my age group. 42 whoopie!!!!

New laptop yeah!!!! I really needed this. It make's it so much easier to travel back and forth from SD to SP. Almost done uploading from old Mac and if I can only get my itunes over I will be a happy girl.

More on all of this later.

Time to work

2011 Race Schedule

So after much deliberation (mainly with myself)....... I have finally scheduled my races for 2011. Since my goal is to become faster this year I have decided to forgo an IM and work on shorter races (mainly MTB races) with a late season half IM in the mix to see how this year panned out for me. Since money is tight I have found quite a few MTB races that are inexpensive plus I've had to put my coach on the back burner because...... darn it I can't afford it!!! My 18 year old son (god love him) sucks the $$$ right out of me!! Anyways, here it is 2011:

2/7 Surf City Marathon
2/20 24 hours of Old Pueblo MTB race (solo)
2/27 Sagebrush Safari MTB race
3/13 Bonelli Park MTB race
3/19 Bulldog road bike race
3/27 Fontana MTB race
4/3 Carlsbad 5000
4/30 Iron Girl Sprint Triathlon Lake LV (maybe)
5/22 Big Bear MTB race (not sure if I can make this one)
6/5 Santa Yanez MTB race
6/19 Big Bear MTB finals
6/26 San Diego International Triathlon
8/6 Camp Pendleton sprint triathlon
10/23Soma half IM triathlon
11/13 Catalina Eco Marathon (maybe)

This seems very heavy on the from half of the year for me but these are short fast races and hopefully a great builder for me into the second half of the year.

Happy racing!!

New Year's weekend

Opps.... Well these posted backwards. Note to self. In any event Mark and I had a great New Year's weekend. Actually I started Friday with a 5 mile run at 6:20 am. Can you say Burrrrr..... There was ice on the cars as Sydney and I ran by. OMG this is San Diego..... WTF? Then in the afternoon I was in San Pedro and Mark, Sydney and I hiked 6 miles R/T up to Del Cerro Park in Portuguese Bend. On New Year's Day we MTB'ed it from SP to the top of Del Cerro and back to SP. Since we didn't have enough the first two days we ran it on Sunday before the ran blew in and to make it a bit longer we parked about a mile away from the trail head. What a blast but I'm ready for a change in scenery.

This climb is over 1000 ft. up from PV Dr. South
Were only 1/3rd of the way up here

Welcome 2011

With a new year are new goals. The more I think about it the more I like the word "goals" instead of "resolutions" when talking about a new year. 2010 was a good year with lots of milestones and adjustments for me. So looking forward to 2011 I have come up with goals to strive for and hopefully achieve most of them. Here are my goals for 2011.

  • Try a new recipe every week
  • PR a race
  • Keep working on my 2010 goal of having more patience (in general)
  • Finally organize my GARAGE!!!!
  • Travel to a new place (State or Country)
  • Pick my IM for 2012
  • Try a new sport
  • Join a swim masters workout
  • Bump up Yoga to 4 times a week
  • Spend time with my girl friends a little more and finally....... Try to be more understanding for my son and Mark. Understand that they are men and they just don't think the way I do and therefore that is what causes me stress.

This sure does seem like a bunch of goals. But I think that they are doable. I will work on my Dirtydaizies website and work on blogging more with pics and whatnot so that in case anyone out there in cyberspace finds this at all intertaining they can laugh and share some stories.

Welcome 2011
